Our injured troops need your support through Prayers and Letters. Since the beginning of this all-volunteer operation, over 90,000 cards and letters have been delivered. We invite you to participate in this project, as an individual or as an organization, and to send much needed prayers, hand-written letters, and cards to the service members who have been wounded, injured or become ill while serving in combat zones, as well as service members that have recently served and then became injured or ill.

Support from the public for these outstanding wounded heroes is paramount to recovery. Each journey can be long and is often painful. You can help make a difference in the lives of these young men and women. Send a “Thank-You” today.

How the Program Works

This outreach program is ongoing and operates year-round. Address your cards and hand-written letters using only the first name and unit of each individual and mail them to our post office box. Volunteers sort the cards and letters and mail them in packets to each recipient, usually once a month. You can learn a little about each hero at www.OperationPAL.com, where recovery statuses are updated frequently. We ask that you check the website for updates and to be sure you are working from the most current list. Envelopes should be addressed as follows:

Hero's First Name, Unit
c/o Operation PAL™
PO Box 758
Columbia, Missouri 65205-0758

Support Returning Troops

With troops being sent back and forth to combat zones multiple times, the need for letters addressed simply to "Dear Hero" is increasing. Although not individuall on our list of the most severely injured, many returning service members suffer from physical or psychological injuries that few civilians can even imagine. With a presence in several military hospitals around the U.S.A., Operation PAL™ can provide letters directly to the people who need them most. "Dear Hero" letters expressing good wishes and thanks can be mailed to:
